I'm Returning to The Hindu thanks to their re-designed online edition

Sep 21 2009

The best thing about "The Hindu" is their no-nonsense approach to news reporting. They maintain a minimum standard and try not to add fire or sensation to the news. The news is presented as it is, with the relevant facts and figures. Their detailed analysis on any news item is something that most of the other Indian newspapers should try to emulate.

When I came abroad, The Hindu was one of things I missed.

Sure, they have their online edition at couple of different domain names http://hinduonnet.com, http://hindu.com, http://thehindu.com. All the urls serving the same online edition.

But alas, their online edition was a far cry from their print edition. The design was bland with very less features and was less navigable. It was far outdated for a modern newspaper site.

But now they have had a complete re-design. The site looks pleasant and is easy to navigate and find the news. You can see their beta site here - http://beta.thehindu.com/.

I wish they get the new look on their main site soon.
